Abstract
Despite technological advances in cardiac diagnosis, clinical assessments of myocardial viability and the medical decisions about how to treat and preserve viable dysfunctioning myocardium are still difficult tasks. Thallium-201 imaging, sestamibi, positron emission tomography, and stress echocardiography have all been investigated for their value in this application.
