Abstract

The authors discuss the use of ultrasonography in the investigation of pathological conditions of muscles, tendons and joints. The indications and related ultrasonographic findings are presented. The importance of this method is emphasized both as an aid to diagnosis and choice of treatment. Its use in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment is also discussed.
