This editorial focuses on primary biliary cirrhosis clinical treatment, including the present strategies based on ursodeoxycholic acid therapy, the past experience with immunomodulating, immunosuppressing and antifibrogenic drugs and the future perspectives in which combination therapies represent a promising approach.
