N2 - Percutaneous treatment of a simple renal cyst with fibrin glue in a symptomatic patient. A case of symptomatic simple renal cyst treated with fibrin glue is reported. Usually renal cysts are asymptomatic, but sometimes they can cause pain in the lumbar region, microhematuria and hypertension. Association of cysts with hypertension, described for the first time in 1942, is caused by a stimulation of the renina-angiotensina system due to compression on surrounding structures. The treatment of this disease is now a very easy manoeuvre in Interventional Radiology. Normally the drainage is followed by an alcoholisation of the secreting cystic epithelium, but in the present case a comunication with the urinary tract was suspected the use of only the fibrin glue was preferred. After the procedure, complications were not observed and an ultrasound examination showed the reduction in size of the cyst. Subsequent ultrasound examinations shown a small increase of the cyst with normal blood pressure. The disappearence of the cyst is a rare event, and its relapse is more common. In the case studied the procedure shown a good result with normal blood pressure over a follow-up of six months compared to an incomplete resolution of the cyst. This procedure, easy and poorly invasive, was the treatmement of choice in symptomatic renal cysts but it does not exclude the possibility of a subsequent operation.
