Abstract

The Center for Prevention, Diagnosis and Therapy of Tobacco Addiction, established in September 2000 at the Clinica del Lavoro in Milan, offers smoking cessation programs to companies. We describe here the results of interventions in three different occupational settings with more than 1000 workers. Of the subjects involved in the cessation smoking program, 55% succeeded in quitting smoking after 1 year. This result shows the usefulness of similar programs in the workplace.
