Abstract

Children with suspected syncopes or faintings raise problems in diagnosis and classification. Clear triggering factors represent the main differential diagnostic element for neurocardiogenic or vasovagal syncopes, whereas sudden loss of consciousness form a risk group for cardiologic affections and sudden death and require an accurate cardiologic examination to exclude a potentially lethal cardiac cause.
