Abstract

Preliminary results of the use in open gunshot fractures of external fixator are presented. Based on the encouraging results of two clinical application in multiple severely comminuted gunshot-shelling fractures of the lower limbs, this paper underlines the main role of dynamic stabilization of the fractures site, thus avoiding the disadvantages previously experienced with rigid traditional external fixators.
