Abstract

The authors describe criteria for choosing the best stimulation pattern to be used in walking restoration by FES (functional electrical stimulation). For this purpose, a mathematical model of the human locomotor apparatus which provides the kinematics on the basis of muscular torques is presented. The results of simulation and the integration of the model in the general problem of multichannel implanted stimulation are illustrated.
