Abstract

The authors discuss the immunological and oncological risks of prefilled silicone gel breast implants. A comparative study of 146 patients undergoing breast reconstruction by silicone implant at the Institut Gustave-Roussy and 146 matched controls demonstrated the absence of any difference between the two groups concerning survival, local recurrence rate and metastases.
