Abstract
In this paper, the authors have applied an isokinetic technique and a gait evaluation to study the effectiveness of a standardized rehabilitation pattern in patients who had undergone a total knee arthropathy. Thirty-three patients suffering from gonarthrosis were examined: each of them underwent, on the one hand, an isokinetic evaluation which was performed before the operation and 60 days after it, and, on the other hand, a gait evaluation when load was allowed again, 60 days after the operation. The isokinetic parameters (strength, work, power) showed a clear decrease in absolute values compared with the locomotor situation existing before the operation, wkile concerning the gait evaluation, time reduction was still found in the foot first impact stage.
