Abstract

Pyogenic granuloma is a vascular reactive tumour occurring most frequently in children. The onset of satellite lesions is a rare, alarming but benign phenomenon, that may follow treatment or trauma of the primary lesion. Three patients aged 5, 6 and 9 year-old with a pyogenic granuloma of the trunk who developed multiple satellite lesions after treatment are reported. Notwithstanding the use of different therapeutic techniques (surgical excision, electrodesiccation, and cryotherapy) in all the patients the satellitosis eruptively appeared some weeks after treatment of the primary lesion. The main features of pyogenic granuloma with satellitosis are concisely reviewed.
