Abstract
Understanding 5-year predictors of remission in patients with new-onset cryptogenic focal epilepsy (CFE) would offer a valuable tool to both physicians and patients. Our aim was to evaluate predictive prognostic factors in a cohort of patients with newly diagnosed CFE, regardless of onset age. Family history of epilepsy and lobar localization were identified as independent prognostic predictors. Logistic regression may allow the identification of further predictors and the construction of a calculator for the probability of remission.
