Abstract

Thrombocytopenia and thrombocytosis are defined by a decreased or an elevated platelet count, respectively. Changes in the platelet number are frequently observed during childhood. This article aims at quickly examining the main causes of thrombocytopenia and thrombocytosis in children in order to help the paediatricians with their diagnosis and management.
