Abstract
Adult myofibroma is an acquired and superficial soft tumor with identical histological features as infantile myofibroma. It is tipically localized in the dermis and hypoderm. Adult Myofibroma is part of a group of tumors showing perivascular myoid differentiation with histologic features of glomangioperycitoma, myopericytoma and myofibroma. It likely arises from a pluripotent endothelial cell capable of differentiating along muscle, pericyttic and glomus cell lines. A case of solitary adult myofibroma in a 56-year-old woman with a high tendency to relapse after surgical exeresis, is described.
