Abstract

A proper knowledge of natural course of multiple sclerosis represents a main guideline for planning clinical trials. In order to provide useful reference data, we reviewed the clinical studies on multiple sclerosis, focused on 1) clinical factors of prognostic value, useful for selection and stratifications of patients, 2) relapse frequency changes during the disease and 3) evolution of disability as function of disability score at first observation.
