Abstract

Ultrasound guided fine needle biopsy allowed to diagnose Burkitt lymphoma with multi-organ involvement in a young patient with AIDS. To our knowledge, only one other case of Burkitt lymphoma with pancreatic involvement has been reported so far. This report shows that such procedure, although so far considered of limited diagnostic potential by most authorities in pathology, is particularly useful in detecting rare disease in patients difficult to manage such as those with AIDS.
