Abstract
We wanted to verify education and introduction into a working environment in a sample of 398 out pts interviewed at the Neurological Institute 'C. Besta ' and S. Paolo Hospital Epilepsy Centres, Milan. Accurate scholastic, professional and health anamneses were collected from the same sample to estimate: the correspondence between the results given by the Medical Commission for the Ascertainment of Disability (DI), and the patient's health status valued and codified according to social disability parameters; the convenience for an epileptic patient to make use of the benefits provided by the laws for the recognition of DI and Compulsory Employment (CE) in order to work; how much CE permits an introduction into a working environment suitable for the educational level.
