Abstract

A 65 year old patient with rhinophyma was treated by combined carbon dioxide laser excision and vaporisation. Using the focused laser bean, layers of excess soft tissue were gradually excised until the approximate size and shape of the nose have been achieved. By using the defocused laser beam extremely thin layers of soft tissue have been vaporize to provide the final counturing. Healing by second intention occurred rapidly and the patient did not suffer any postoperative poison.
