Abstract

A fresh preparation of BCG having a bacterial charge of 0.5 mg/ml was injected intranodularly in cutaneous and subcutaneous metastases of malignant melanoma of 22 patients. A total of 85 nodules were treated. Caseous necrosis was observed in 17 patients equal to 68 nodules. The side effects were modest and cleared up in a short time. The results obtained were localized at the treated nodules, without giving rise to a therapeutic action on those not injected. The evolution of the disease was not modified.
