Abstract
Muscular hydatidosis is a relatively rare phenomenon. The authors report their experience in surgical treatment of a cyst localized in the tibialis anterior muscle in the right leg of a woman 48 years aged After diagnosis, the patient was submitted to cyst excision. Follow-up at seven months did not show any signs of recurrence. The authors conclude, on the basis of the recent literature and on their own personal experience, that surgery permits complete resolution and, especially when performed at an early stage, reduces progressive compression of the muscle involved, thereby minimizing sequelae.
