Abstract
The hindfoot presents pathologies due to functional overload and, less frequently, due to macrotraumas.The overload pathologies of the hindfoot are part of "posterior carrefour syndrome" (PCS) [1], which includes bony, tendinous, capsular, and neural pathologies: The posterior portion of the talus (tuberculum, os trigonum) The third malleolus of the tibia The posterior portion of the calcaneus The Achilles tendon Peroneal tendons (longus and brevis) Tibialis posterior tendon and/or nerve Flexor digitorum and flexor hallucis tendons Plantar fascia.
