Abstract

Plasma GH response to arginine infusion and to insulin induced hypoglycemia was studied in 13 hyperthyroid and in 9 primary hypothyroid patients. In the hyperthyroids, basal plasma GH values were significantly higher than those in normals (p0.005), while insulin hypoglycemia increased the GH levels normally. In hypothyroid patients the basal plasma GH concentration was within the normal range. Arginine test induced smaller GH increases than in normals (p
