Abstract
The diagnosis of mild chronic pancreatitis is often difficult to achieve as the morphological and functional routine tests do not provide sufficient significative data. 20 patients showing at ERP minimal pancreatographic changes have been followed-up by histological examination or by long-term ERP in order to evaluate the diagnostic value of the observed minor parameters. The pancreatographic findings have been correlate to Secretin-Caerulein test (PFT). The follow-up has demonstrated that the minim al changes have been predictive for chronic pancreatitis in 70% of the cases. A correlation between pancreatography and Secretin-Caerulein test has been documented in 75% of the cases.
