Abstract
The incorporation of [14C]leucine and [3H]palmitic acid into the β-lipoproteins of liver and plasma of normal and CCl4-intoxicated rats has been studied. It has been found that CCl4, inhibits the incorporation of [14C]leucine and [3H]palmitic acid into β-lipoproteins isolated from the liver and the plasma and causes an increase in the 3H/14C ratio. The very low density and the low-density lipoprotein fractions were also isolated from rat liver cellular sap. Inhibition of incorporation of both substances is much more marked at the expense of the very low density fraction.
