Abstract
Penfluridol is a long-lasting neuroleptic drug which accumulates in the adipose tissue of rats and mice. The concentration in this tissue, depending on the time, may be 50-100 times higher than in blood or in brain. Penfluridol does not selectively distribute in various brain areas of rats including hemispheres, striatum, diencephalon, mesencephalon and cerebellum. The concentration of penfluridol in rat brain necessary to exert significant anti-amphetamine activity is around 7 ng/g.
