Abstract
257 prostatic needle-biopsies according to Franzen's technique were performed on 114 patients with prostatic carcinoma with different stages of differentiation and clinical stages, in order to evaluate the effects of the performed treatment. Some signs of regression may in fact appear either in the nucleus or in the cytoplasm. A good correlation was evidenced among the cellular changes, the clinical condition and the evolution of the disease. In the follow-up of patients treated for prostatic cancer, cytology may provide important information concerning the effects and effectiveness of the treatment.
