Abstract
Neuropsychological findings of a longitudinal study on cognitive effects due to antiepileptic drugs (AED) withdrawal in seizure-free patients are reported. Methodological problems on assessment of AED cognitive effects are also summarized. In our cases the effect due to a monotherapy with the main AED were generally slight and completely reversible with the drug withdrawal.
