Abstract
Cortical evoked responses are routinely recorded from one or two scalp areas. The technique of brain mapping allows a functional study of the brain by recording evoked activity over tens of cortical sites after sensory stimulation. Electrical stimulation of peripheral nerves generates both Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SEPs) and Magnetic Fields in the brain: it is therefore possible to obtain electric and magnetic brain maps.
