EPILESSIA A PAROSSISMI ROLANDICI (EPR) E LESIONE

Four cases of benign epilepsy of children with rolandic or centro-temporal foci associated with brain damage (one case of agenesis of corpus callosum with more complex skeleton malformation, one case of lipoma of the corpus callosum, one case of cyst of the septum pellucidum and one case of congenital toxoplasmosis) are reported. The age at the first ictal event, the clinical features of seizures, their good responsiveness to treatment and the EEG abnormalities lead the Authors to think that, in these subjects, epilepsy is independent from brain damage and their association is fortuitous. They conclude that the normality of neuroradiological investigation is not indispensable for the diagnosis of benign partial epilepsy with centrotemporal foci.
