Abstract

The authors describe a case of atypical cutaneous metastases from a signet-ring cell gastric carcinoma. Skin manifestations (diffuse erythemato-oedematous and infiltrating lesions on the neck, shoulders, arms and chest) appeared five years after surgical removal of the primary tumour. Histopathological examination revealed neoplastic emboli within the dermal blood and lymphatic vessels consisting of typical signet-ring cells.
