Abstract
Achilles tendon disorders in football are frequent in Italy owing to the large number of players and the features of the specific and basic movements required, the type of ground and the type of footwear. The cause, origin and treatment of such disorders are the subject of conflicting opinions. This paper reviews the relevant literature and illustrates personal preferences in the treatment of Achilles tendon disorders and subcutaneous ruptures.
