Abstract

We describe a patient with renal transplant who developed abdominal pain and acute nephritis in the course of the follow-up. A biopsy of colon lesions revealed CMV inclusions, renal biopsy revealed acute glomerulonephritis with positive CMV-DNA on polimerase chain reaction. The renal disease and bowel symptoms completely resolved after antiviral treatment.
