Abstract

MR angiography has fast become an important means of studying intracranial and neck vessels in asymptomatic patients with suspect stenosis, aneurysms or AVM. This work investigated the main features of the different angio-MR techniques and compared them in the study of various pathologies. An analysis of the distinctive features of the sequences used in angio-MR imaging, particularly the latest sequences such as the MOTSA technique and PC highlight the different aspects displayed in the scans and thus determine the most appropriate sequence. In agreement with literature reports, comparison of the different sequences available to display the vascular intra and extracranial districts has shown that MR examination can be included in diagnostic protocols not only as a complementary investigation, but also as a first choice imaging procedure.
